Insomnia
Sitting in my bed staring at the ceiling
Wishing for a way to stop my insomnia breathing
Yes I am wide awake no way am I dreaming
As I lay on my back writing and reading
Thinking of sleep as if its the heights of achieving
Awake at these hours who knows what’s the meaning
If slumber was a drug I guess that I am feening
It catches up with me in the day regularly sends me reeling
Sedatives never work my body’s resolve is steely
To imprison my subconscious nightly it finds so easy
It is not my diet, at least I hope it is not what I am eating
I try to look after myself best as I can, I aim to please me
My desire is to sleep it is about time you appease me!
