My Poetry Explained
Hello readers, I just want to start by explaining a little about my poetry posts that you see. I want to make it clear that I have been writing Poetry for over ten years. The poems here are between older and newer material. I am only addressing this as I keep being asked if it applies to my feelings on the day of posting and the answer is likely to be no.
To me this is very similar to writing music. I don’t think you have to be suffering a broken heart at the time of writing the lyrics to deliver a song of that particular theme. You may have lived through a broken heart prior and can recall those feelings at the time for inspiration. However, my point ultimately is, even if you have never suffered a broken heart if you chose to write a song on that subject it does not take away from the worthiness of it.
Poetry like music has a deeper relevance if you can relate. If you can relate to the poetry on offer then that’s great, I’m glad you can. I suppose the more worthwhile question is when did I write the particular poem? Feel free to leave a comment under the particular poem and I will gladly answer that for you.
I hope that clears things up!
